Short Summary:

Witness statement: "We were sitting in a garden restaurant at the Costa Bella holiday resort near Marbella in southern Spain. Around 3:30 a.m., a murmur suddenly went through the restaurant from the other guests, and everyone pointed to the sky. Sure enough, I saw a bright, white-blue disc in the sky, coming from the northwest. From our perspective, it was about a quarter of the moon's diameter and outshone everything else in the clear night sky. Ten to fifteen smaller objects, not quite as bright, followed it at regular intervals. All the objects, including the large main object, left an orange-red trail behind them. The objects moved smoothly and silently across the sky in a southeasterly direction. Their considerable altitude also seemed to remain constant. After about 30 seconds, the objects disappeared over the Mediterranean Sea, fading into the distance and heading towards Africa." Note: The case file has water damage.
